Fathers Day is June 20th this year in the US and Canada. I must admit that in the past I paid it very little attention. In my family, we did as most do. We lavished all our attention on Mothers Day while Fathers Day went almost ignored.
Why is that? My father’s birthday was May 17th and he turned a youthful 81 years young. I told him that he does not look a day over 50. And that’s almost correct. The man looks great! And he is in terrific shape. Last week he and some of my nephews were putting up a fence in my parents’ back yard—-a rather large privacy fence.
I find that I appreciate my father more now than ever—now that he is older and I’m mature enough now to understand how blessed I am to have grown up with a father!
Is your father still alive? Reach out to him this Fathers Day. Do something special for him.
Of course, you can always call UpperCrust Maids and arrange to have his home cleaned—although that’s generally a task that means more to mothers. But if you do decide to treat him to a home cleaning, it need not be done on Fathers Day. It can be done any day of the year. Appreciation and love has no target date. Love is best shown continually.
